These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Daily Stoic Notes website and the Stoic Journal application (together, the "Service") operated by Northfacestudios Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in Finland.
1. The Service
Stoic Journal is a personal daily journaling tool that allows you to write entries and request AI-generated reflections written in the voice of classical Stoic philosophers (Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, Seneca). Reflections are generated by a third-party large language model and are intended for personal reflection only. They are not, and must not be treated as, medical, psychological, legal, financial or professional advice.
2. Account and eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.
3. Free trial and subscription
- New subscriptions include a 14-day free trial. A valid payment card is required to start the trial; you are not charged during the trial and can cancel at any time before it ends.
- When the trial ends, the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled: €4.90 per month or €49 per year, billed in advance.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time from your account settings; your access continues until the end of the paid period.
- All prices include applicable VAT where required.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store card details.

5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for anything illegal, abusive, or harmful to others.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the Service.
- Submit content that infringes another person's rights or contains malware.
- Bypass usage limits or share your account with others.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms without refund for the remaining period.
6. Your content
You retain full ownership of the journal entries you write. We only process them to provide the Service to you (storage and generating reflections you request). We do not use your journal entries to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service running reliably but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may update features, pricing (with reasonable notice for existing subscribers), or discontinue the Service.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Finnish law, our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including consumer statutory rights).
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Consumer disputes may also be brought before the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi) or the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
